This beautiful town is probably most famous as the
birth place of William Shakespeare.  Around the town
you are able to visit Shakespeare's birthplace and
family home in Henley Street, Anne Hathaway's cottage, The Holy Trinity Church where Shakespeare was baptised and buried and, of course, visit the theatre to see one of his many plays.
A good way to find your way around the sites within the town in to take an award winning guided walk around Shakespeare's Stratford every day of the year.  Informative and interesting.  Mon, Tue, Wed at 11am.  Thu, Fri, Sat & Sun at 2pm. William Shakespeare, the world famous poet and playwright, was born in Stratford-upon-Avon and continued to have a very direct link with the town throughout his life, finally retiring here in 1613, where he died 3 years later.

Shakespeare's Houses
Less than 10 miles away, is the beautiful town of Warwick and it's Castle.  Built by William the Conqueror in 1068, the castle sits on a cliff overlooking the River Avon. Warwick Castle is open from 10am - 5pm every day and last admission is at 4:00, however there is a range of entertainment all day so allow plenty of time to make the most of your day.
